Judge Not Dreamers! 09/28/2010
In my last post I mentioned the idea that our choice to pursue our dreams can sometimes feel like coming out of the closet. The reason? Judgment! In this case, it is self-judgment. But how about when we judge other people's dreams?
Guess what? It's still self-judgment!
If you have your attention focused on what someone else is either dreaming about, or in the process of creating, what you really are saying is that it is not okay for YOU to have and pursue your dreams. Why? because if you were okay with your dream all your attention would be on your dream and creating it, you wouldn't have any attention left to put on someone else.
How about when someone tells you about their dream and your thoughts turn to how it can't be done? Or when you tell someone about your dream and they tell you all the reasons it can't be done? It is important to remember that everyone is judging their own dreams!
So what can you do? When someone tells you about their dream, put your attention on supporting their next step. When someone judges your dream, know that they are judging their own dream.
In the end all judgment is self-judgment. I know I'm not sharing anything new, but I am inviting you to be aware of where your attention is. If it's NOT on your dream and creating it, then you may be judging your dream.
